Volunteer at TN & MS Tornadoes 2025

In early April 2025, Tennessee and Mississippi experienced a significant severe weather outbreak characterized by multiple tornado-producing supercell thunderstorms.  The system moved through the region between April 3-5, bringing damaging winds exceeding 70 mph in some locations, golf ball-sized hail, and several confirmed tornadoes.

The National Weather Service issued numerous tornado warnings across both states, with the most substantial impacts occurring in Western Tennessee and northeastern Mississippi.  Several EF-2 tornadoes were confirmed, with at least one reaching EF-3 intensity in rural areas of western Tennessee.

The severe weather system resulted in widespread power outages affecting approximately 150,000 residents across both states.  Residential damage was significant, with hundreds of homes suffering various levels of destruction.  Some properties experienced complete loss, while others had structural damage from fallen trees or flooding.
